MEC Shongwe to interact with stakeholders on crime in Emalahleni

Mpumalanga MEC for Community Safety, Security and Liaison, Vusi Shongwe will interact with stakeholders on crime in Emalahleni this weekend.

According to the latest Crime Statistics, Witbank Police Station is among the top 30 stations that contributes most serious crimes nationwide.

The Vosman Police Station, which is also in Emalahleni, is one of the priority stations in the province that also contribute most numbers of serious crimes.
It is in this context that MEC will interact with various stakeholders to find ways of eradicating crime in the area.

Members of Justice, Crime and Security (JCPS) Cluster departments are some of the stakeholders expected to deliberate on challenges in the area.

The (JCPS) cluster departments include Justice, Home Affairs, Social Development and South African Police Service (SAPS) among others.

The meeting will take place today (Saturday, June 12) at 10h00 at the Sy Mthimunye Stadium, Emalahleni Local Municipality.

The engagements will take place in strict compliance to COVID-19 Regulations and health protocols.
