Psychology student hopeful to be Mr SA

Vuma also works with the Justice Desk, empowering locals across South Africa, Zimbabwe and Zambia, to understand and defend their human rights through advocacy, education, training and community empowerment.

Goodwill Sandile Vuma (23) is one of the Mr South Africa hopefuls.
The second-year psychology student of the University of Limpopo believes in education, independence, family and fitness.


“The reason I chose to pursue my studies in psychology its simply because I want to help South Africans, more especially the Mpumalanga communities, when it comes to mental health. I want to help them understand that everything starts in the mind. I want to help people improve their decision-making, stress management and to look at life in a more positive way,” said the handsome man.

Vuma’s breakthrough was passing his matric with flying colours in 2018 and being admitted at the university to pursue his dream career. He has been part of the university’s bodybuilding team ever since and has won a number of titles.


Last year he won second place in the Limpopo Legends show, and
qualified for the Arnold Classic to be held later this year in Gauteng.
He aims the inspire the youth to follow their dreams. ” I want to show them that anything is possible. It doesn’t really matter where you are or where you come from, you just have to give it your best.

“Last, but not least, I want to fight the pandemic and gender-based violence; it is a heartbreaking issue, especially in South Africa. I want to use the Mr South Africa platform to stand against this serious problem,” he explained.
