Case of robbery at Dwarsloop hardware store has police on the hunt for suspects

The police had since launched a manhunt in connection with this business robbery case.

Customers and employees of a hardware store in Dwarsloop were shocked when it was robbed by unknown men in broad daylight on Monday morning. “We had just parked outside and were ready to go in when we suddenly heard a gunshot. Others claimed that a thief was being held. Suddenly a few guys came out of the shop and revved away in an old, red Nissan Sentra,” said a witness who wanted to remain unnamed to protect their identity.

The provincial police spokesperson, Col Donald Mdhluli, said the police had since launched a manhunt in connection with this business robbery case. “A report indicates that about four armed suspects entered the shop where they held employees at gunpoint and robbed them of an undisclosed amount of cash before fleeing the scene with the stolen money,” he said.
