Beauty pageant down to the top 30

As the journey to the ultimate prize and a once-in-a-lifetime experience to perform on the grandest stage of all continues, organisers of the annual Crowning Miss Mpumalanga, Mzimari Productions, finally got to select their top 30.

The top 30 were selected out of a pool of entrants received from aspiring models around the province.

Hosted under extreme Covid-19 regulations, the organisers and a panel of judges had conducted a rigorous internal selection process and shortened the list to 30 girls, who later received callbacks to do personal interviews.

“Getting to where we are now wasn’t easy as we had to screen over 1 000 entrants from around the province. But I am happy to announce that at the end we manage to successfully select our top 30,” said Gugu Nyarenda, Mzimari Productions’ CEO.

She said the numbers will eventually go down to the top 12, who will form part of the finalists to strut their stuff at the grand finale.

“Next week, we will officially unveil the top 12 finalists, who will perform at a date and venue still to be announced. “We are, however, pleased at how the processes have unfolded, given the fact that we had to move away from the old way of doing things and adapt to the new normal due to Covid-19,” said Nyarenda.
