Learners of Angels Park Academy and Acek Academy in White River came to school in their numbers this morning. The schools opened under strict Covid-19 regulations. The principals assured everyone that they were ready for the 2021 academic year. 
The opening of private schools today follows the announcement recently made by the Department of Education regarding the reopening of private and public schools in the country. 
The updated return dates as issued by the department are as follows:
• January 25: The principal, school management teams including education assistants and general assistants (Basic Education Employment Initiative) and non-teaching staff must return to school
• February 1: All educators must return to school
• February 1: Private school learners may return to school
• February 15: All learners must return to school.
Mpumalanga News learned that learners of the Metropolitan College will only return to school on February 15.
