Freedom stalwart’s Saul Mkhize, wife has passed away

Tributes have been pouring in for the wife of the late freedom fighter, Saul Mkhize, 74-year-old Angelina Slinky Mkhize.

“The family is shattered by her death, but believes she is at peace as she died with a heavy heart, longing to know why the government recognised someone else as Saul’s wife instead of her.

“She hoped the truth would come out now that she is no more, but then again, one can never hold their breath, because we are dealing with the most corrupt government we have ever come across,” said her family in a media statement.

Saul Mkhize was gunned down by the then apartheid police as he was fighting against the forceful removal of black people in rural areas, mainly Driefontein in Mpumalanga. “May their souls rest in eternal peace as they meet again in heaven to continue their marriage,” concluded her daughter-in-law, Musa Nchela.
