Mpumalanga’s Got Talent, do you?

Talented youngsters of the province stand a chance of winning a share of the R100 000 coveted prize at this year’s Mpumalanga's Got Talent show.

Traditional as well as contemporary dance, indigenous performances, drama and more are all set to partake in the show.

Entry for the competition is open until this coming Sunday.

“Online entries are now open until November 1. Due to the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic, auditions will be done virtually,” explained Bongi Shiba, founder of Mpumalanga’s Got Talent.

“Candidates will have to register and send a 60-second video clip for audition either via WhatsApp on 079-290-3200, or our online page, www.mpgt.co.za to be considered for the entry,” added Shiba.

“Our aim is to empower the youth and help open doors for them, both in performing and visual arts. Arts is part of humanity – it is what makes us human. “Different from the sciences that are predictable and governed by laws of nature, art provide us with a variety of ways to express ourselves. “We want to see as many upcoming artists as possible participate in developmental activities related to showcasing, marketing and artistic workshops.

“We will also help winners develop their portfolio. We will also assist them with recording, production and stage presentation, to mention a few,” he said.

Rogger Ntuli of Future Stars Theatre Projects said participating in the show three years ago opened many doors for his group.

“Participating in Mpumalanga’s Got Talent back in 2017, inspired us to do more and our morale was boosted. We have been winning competitions since then. We look forward to competing in bigger challenges like the Metro Awards and the South African Music Awards,” Ntuli said.

This year’s show is sponsored by the Department of Sports, Culture and Recreation, Mercure Hotel, Jeppe College, Rising Sun TV and Vodacom. For more information visit www.mpgt.co.za or send a WhatsApp to 079-290-3200.
