Covid-19: Mpumalanga’s positive cases nearing 30 000, of which 28 000 recovered, 594 deaths and 665 active

South Africa has recorded 715 868 confirmed infections, according to an announcement by the minister of health, Dr Zweli Mkhize, on Sunday, October 25. A total of 29 315 of those cases have been reported in Mpumalanga.

According to data released by the Mpumalanga Department of Health, there have been 28 056 recoveries and 594 deaths to date.

The number of positive cases in the province can be broken down as follows:

Ehlanzeni District

• Bushbuckridge: 1 131 cases, 1 049 recoveries and 18 deaths
• City of Mbombela: 5 644 cases, 5 323 recoveries and 60 deaths
• Nkomazi: 2 209 cases, 2 139 recoveries and 36 deaths
• Thaba Chweu: 471 cases and 445 recoveries and 13 deaths.

Gert Sibande District

• Chief Albert Luthuli: 800 cases, 756 recoveries and 19 deaths
• Dipaliseng: 343 cases and 326 recoveries and 15 deaths
• Dr Pixely Ka Isaka Seme: 962 cases, 939 recoveries and 18 deaths
• Govan Mbeki: 3 754 cases, 3 647 recoveries and 60 deaths
• Lekwa: 1 175 cases, 1 097 recoveries and 60 deaths
• Mkhondo: 580 cases, 536 recoveries and 29 deaths
• Msukaligwa: 1 717 cases, 1 626 recoveries and 46 deaths.

Nkangala District

• Dr JS Moroka: 405 cases, 392 recoveries and nine deaths
• eMakhazeni: 474 cases and 453 recoveries and 17 deaths
• eMalahleni: 5 654 cases, 5 489 recoveries and 101 deaths
• Steve Tshwete: 2 871 cases, 2 755 recoveries and 63 deaths
• Thembisile Hani: 660 cases, 631 recoveries and 20 deaths
• Victor Khanye: 465 cases and 453 recoveries and 10 deaths.
