Grade 12’s time to shine

The class of 2020 was visited by the director general for the Department of Basic Education, Mathanzima Mweli on Monday as part of his nationwide monitoring tour.

Matric learners within Nsikazi’s WhiteHazy district were given enough ammunition to be prepared for the upcoming trial and final examinations.

“For you to succeed, you need to come to school every day. Don’t miss any opportunity of coming to school so there is nothing you miss. The people you need most are your teachers and they can only help you succeed if you attend school,” he said, encouraging the learners at Siphumelele Secondary School in Mahhushu. He continued, “Attend extra programmes such as weekend classes, because that is where knowledge and information can be found. Ensure that you take advantage of those situations because you will gain a lot.” Mweli told them that the future of the country lies in their hands as youngsters.

“You need to pass your matric. While preparing for your exams, make sure that you go through the question papers of the previous five years of each subject. Five years in education is important. Question papers of the previous years are the key and if you go through them and use them for revision, there will not be even one question in the paper that you are going to write that you won’t be able to answer,” Mweli said.
