Excellent Mbhokane of Newscom Village near this area is a true agent of change and hope in his community. 
“Drugs had an immense effect on me. While I was still employed in the mining industry, my addiction got to a point where my job was on the line as I could no longer control myself. I finally made a decision to quit and have not looked back,” he said.

“I joined the gym five years ago due to my drug problem. I needed something to distract me and keep me busy so I wouldn’t spend most of my time with the wrong people with whom I ended up abusing substances. This saved my life.” Mbhokane has slowly but surely been achieving excellence. He recently ventured into modelling which has been a perfect fit. He is one of the semi-finalists in the ABM Top Models category.

“I also took part in the South African Ultimate Top Models 2020 season one and have made it to the top 17 semi-finalists. My dream is to represent the province in this industry.
“My plea is for as many community members as possible to vote for me. They can do so by SMSing ABMF16 to 40439,” he said. Mbhokane also runs his own fitness centre, Iron Ex Fitness, which was not spared the negative impact of the lockdown. “Making it to the top 17 as a semi-finalist is a blessing to me after everything I’ve been through.
