Designer rises to occasion with her elegant designs

Passion, dedication and hard work are words used to describe young fashion designer, Eulander Nompumelelo.

This sassy local is one of a few women in the province who are pushing the boundaries and following their passion, despite lack of resources and funding.

Nompumelelo started designing as a hobby at an early age and pursued her dream until she turned pro in 2016, when she established her own company, Nompumelelo Designs, which is an online fashion store that sells her designs. “I started small, using the little material I had,” she said.

“I fell in love with fashion design and modelling at an early age and I just knew I born for this. I started sketching my own creations even before I went to study fashion design,” she added.

Nompumelelo studied to perfect her craft and returned as a knowledgeable pro. Just like many other aspiring fashion designers in Mpumalanga who have little support, Nompumelelo had to nurse and fund her fledgling business herself. “It was really tough since I had no funding in place, but I persevered. My online shop actually specialises in readyto-wear, red-carpet garments and dresses for the bridesmaids and bride. We also manufacture unique designs for ladies who enjoy dressing up for every event and day-to-day wear,” she elaborated.

Nompumelelo creates traditional wear fit for traditional weddings and lobola events. She believes that when you are confident, you can conquer the world, thus she makes clothes that bring out the confidence in anyone wearing her brand. She works tirelessly to give every client her undivided attention and ensures they are satisfied with her personal touches on every garment to suit any body type.

Her fashion range has been paraded countries such as Botswana and Zambia. “I am passionate about fashion design, but I am obsessed with fashion modelling,” she said as she paraded her own clothing range.

“Help is now just a click away for the best quality and beautiful designs,” Nompumelelo concluded. She can be reached on Facebook and Instagram as Eulanda Nompumelelo and at www.nompumelelodesigns.co.za.
