New Acornhoek station commander ready to serve

He stressed the need for members of SAPS in his station to always fulfil their duties with diligence, integrity and as per the Constitution of the country.

Criminals beware, there’s a new sheriff in town.
The new Acornhoek station commander, Colonel Mfudisi Makamu, is ready and geared to serve and protect.
“I want the entire community to feel safe and welcomed as soon as they enter the station.
I strongly believe that there should be cooperation between the community members and the police,” opened up Makamu.

He comes with vast police experience having served in numerous positions within the SAPS family.
He joined the force in 1988 and slowly climbed up the ranks.
In 2010 he was appointed acting station commander at Bushbuckridge SAPS and went on to serve as the Hazyview Police Station commander in 2012.
In 2016, he was appointed station commander of Elukwatini Police Station in Albert Luthuli Local Municipality.
Makamu believes that the key to turning things around and making this police station one of the best in the province is by working together with the community.
“Working together with the community will actually yield positive results for us and the very same community that we serve,” he said.

He joined this police station as its commander on July 15.
He stressed the need for members of SAPS in his station to always fulfil their duties with diligence, integrity and as per the Constitution of the country.
“We are simply going to enhance service delivery and the way we operate. We want to work together with the community to make sure that criminals are arrested, whilst at the same time fighting corruption within the force and clean our streets from all sorts of criminal activities,” he continued.
With the ever increasing, Makamu pleaded with the community to adhere to the safety and health regulations as set up by the World Health Organisation, such as wearing of masks, regular washing of hands and keeping of social distancing.
