Kishugu Holdings comes to family’s aid

Help has started pouring in for the Zwane family who were left without a roof over their heads and out in the cold after a fire destroyed their house last week.

EMPULUZI – First to come to their aid was Kishugu Holdings, which donated much-needed beds, blankets, chairs and money to keep them going for a while.

While making the donation, Kishugu Holdings’ group executive of corporate communications, Naranda Leeuwner, said they were deeply touched and had decided to help wherever they can.

“Kishugu, which is the implementing agent for government’s Working on Fire programme, makes fire our business.
People who are affected by it are very close to our hearts as our main purpose is to save people’s lives, their property and the environment.

“When we heard that the family’s house had burned down, management immediately made work of it to notify our staff to lend a helping hand. Within minutes, we received a number of donations which included a few beds, linen, towels, clothes, toys, food and money,” said Leeuwner.

The fire occurred last Monday evening while the family were praying in the living room. The exact cause is still unknown, but the family suspect it was due to an electric fault.

“We would like to extend our best wishes to you and your family during this very difficult time. To have lost your house in a fire must have been a very traumatic experience. We are grateful and we thank God that He has kept
His hand over you and your loved ones and that you are all unscathed.

“We truly hope that these donations at least make some difference in your household and that you and your family will soon get back on your feet. Our thoughts are with you during this time,” continued Leeuwner.

Speaking on behalf of the family, Sandra Zwane said they were grateful for the gestures shown by ordinary people and businesses.

“We feel blessed for all the support we have received so far. We would like to thank Kishugu Holdings for driving all the way from Mbombela to help us with the donation,” said the joyful Sandra.

Upon hearing the news, the Mpumalanga Moral Regeneration Movement’s chairperson, Rev Simon Ntali, made a plea to good Samaritans and local businesses to come together for a noble cause and help the
family.

“This is the time to show the caring spirit we inherited from our great father, Mandela. Let us celebrate and honour his legacy by doing good for humanity. Here is a family in need of our support. Let us all roll our sleeves up and help out wherever we can. The Moral Regeneration stands for noble deeds and our thoughts and prayers are with this
family and many others in a similar situation out there,” said Ntali.
