MEC for community safety, security and liaison, Gabisile Shabalala on Monday paid a courtesy visit to the Perdekop police station to check, among others, Covid-19 compliance at the station.

It’s thumbs up for the cluster police for diligently tackling crime in the area as it’s reportedly decreased.

This was spelled out by the MEC for community safety, security and liaison, Gabisile Shabalala this morning when she paid a courtesy visit to the Perdekop police station to check, among others, Covid-19 compliance at the station. She inspected the charge office and cells.

“I’m impressed with your record of handling one of the most common crimes in the area, stock theft. As we entering winter, you must be wary of gender-based violence at this time of the year. Yes, it’s down, but it may raise its ugly head at this time of year.

“You must also guard against being infected by the coronavirus in your line of duty because your area becomes very cold during the winter months. Be careful and stay healthy for your communities and always protect them from vicious criminals,” she said.
