Sewage causes big stink for Tekwane South family
A family has endured the foul stench from a broken sewer in their yard for the past three months.
It is supposedly maintained by Sihle Property Developers and Plant Hires, but apparently this has not been done.
“I laid several complaints at the local site office and they always make silly excuses like, ‘The truck is broken’ or ‘The truck is at Matsafeni’. However, I always see it on the N4. I even called their main office in Mbombela and they promised to address the issue, but still nothing has been done,” said Prince Matsane.

He also raised the concern that the neglected sewage poses a health hazard, especially to children.
“Our children can no longer play freely in our yard. We are worried that they might get sick because of the dirty water. It is no longer safe, because they might push each other playfully and drown in there. I no longer want this sewerage in my yard. It has damaged my house. They must remove it,” he concluded.
