Four suspects escape from lawful custody in Pienaar

They were all working as a group in the commission of 32 serious cases of house robberies and one murder.

Police in Mpumalanga have launched a manhunt for four suspects who escaped from lawful custody at Pienaar SAPS during the early hours of this morning.

According to police, they were all working as a group in the commission of 32 serious cases of house robberies and one murder. They terrorised communities in Tonga, Matsulu, Pienaar, KaBokweni as well as Barberton.


The suspects are Sifiso Mathonsi (28), Senzo Nyambi (31), Bongani Bogra Mpila ( 37) and Vusi Ceko (31).


The police call on the public to assist with information that may lead to the rearrest of these villains to contact Lt Col Jacky Mbuyane on 082-469-1478 or the police crime stop number on 086-00-10111 or send an SMS about the suspects to 32211.
The provincial commissioner said action must be taken against the police member who was on duty when the suspects escaped, both criminally and departmentally. The manner in which the suspects escaped is yet to be probed.
