Rape, kidnapping and attempted murder accused lured victim with R10

It was heard in court today that one of his victims died while he was raping her.

GRASKOP – Lincho Believe Makhubela appeared in the high court sitting today and pleaded guilty to all charges against him.

The charges include two counts of rape, kidnapping and culpable homicide.

The attempted murder charge was withdrawn by the state.

In two separate incidents during 2018, it is reported that on March 31 he unlawfully and intentionally deprived a minor (nine years old at the time) her freedom by dragging her into the bushes and thereafter raped her.

In his statement, the accused stated that he lured the second victim, Nokubonga Nonyane, while she was with a group of children in Masoyi with the promise to give her R10 on June 8.  Nonyane’s body was found three days later dumped in a ditch in Numbi.

The case was postponed to February 24 for pre and possible sentencing.
