Alleged serial killer to appear in court tomorrow

Two of the victims’ families are still waiting for the remains of their loved ones to give them proper funerals.

The man arrested for the murder of five women from areas around Masoyi will appear in court tomorrow.

Thabiso Julius Mndawe (25) from Numbi spent the festive season behind bars after four bodies of human remains were exhumed from his home on July 14, 2019.

This happened after Mndawe was arrested for the murder of Tokkie Tlaka from Mgcobaneni. Her body was exhumed on July 3 after Mndawe allegedly confessed to her murder following police tracing of Tlaka’s cellphone.
Masoyi police alleged that Mndawe also confessed to the murder of the four other women and allegedly pointed police to the victims’ shallow graves at his home. He last appeared at the Masoyi Magistrate’s Court on November 5, 2019.

Police said forensic investigations were still continuing in a laboratory in Pretoria for the results of the remaining two women, Felicia Mdlovo and Noxolo Mdluli .
