Take on challenges with this new book

A preacher from the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Southern Africa launched his book to help the world overcome daily challenges.

Rev Cebisa Shobede’s book, titled An Attempt to Overcome Challenges, is aimed at helping individuals, churches, families and clubs conquer their challenges. He was motivated by the biblical story of David and Goliath from 1 Samuel 17 verses 44-45 to publish the book.

“This is a motivational book I wrote after the experience I had from interacting with different people and learning of their challenges. I picked up that there are some similarities with challenges I had gone through in the past. To me a challenge provokes one to do something that may drive them in a different route,” said Shobede. He launched his book at the Sabie Lutheran Church on Saturday. The community and his congregation attended the event.
The book provides plenty of ways on how readers may use Godly principles to avoid and conquer challenges in life.

“Abstinence is one example of such principles to prevent teenage pregnancies and sexually transmitted diseases. Godly principles also promote self-respect, dignity, pure love and mutual understanding. If we can all apply such in our daily lives we will easily do away with issues of moral decay in the society, addiction to drugs and so forth,”  he said.

The book has eight chapters and 162 pages. It costs only R200. It is an easy-to-read book that addresses people’s needs from daily challenges faced by the society.

“We researched and read widely to be equipped in order to make an input in addressing challenges at our own space. This book will help readers to be in a better position to help others,” he added.

You can also get your copy from the Sabie Parish, Stand 518 Mhlanga Street, Simile Location.

He invites all interested readers to fellowship at the Sabie Parish every Sunday from 09:00 or at home cells every Tuesday.
