A group of 15 female artists from the province, calling themselves Women in Prayer, released a prayer song beseeching God to raise His hand and heal the nation of social ills, especially gender-based violence.

The siSwati lyrics “Nguwe wedvwa lophetse imphendvulo”, loosely translated to “You alone have all the answers to our dilemma”, are a prayer to God asking for His divine intervention in the issues of women and child abuse.

“The song aims to raise awareness on gender-based violence and abuse. This is actually one way to pray to God, asking for his divine intervention in such times,” explained Qiniso Mabaso, one of the artists.
