Gutshwa taps running dry

Most people have no choice but to consume water from streams.

GUTSHWA – Taps continue to run dry in most villages of the province.

It was an overcast Thursday morning in this vast village on the outskirts of KaBokweni when Mpumalanga News met residents from Ward 31 who were gathered near a stream with wheelbarrows
and 20-litre buckets. It is evident that the water crisis hits the hardest in the most underprivileged
communities.

Mpumalanga News has in the past four months visited various communities affected by water
scarcity, including Mafambisa, Gedlembane and Embonisweni.
