Two appear in court for killing a police officer in Mbombela

Two accused briefly appeared in the Nelspruit Magistrate’s Court in connection with the murder of Sgt Sthembile Mdluli whose body was found abandoned in bushes near Sabi two years ago.
The accused, Moses Sibiya (37) and Richard Shabangu (36) briefly appeared in court on November 15.

They were not asked to plead to charges of kidnapping, murder and theft of a motor vehicle.
The presiding magistrate said the case must be given first preference for starting trial on February 12, 2020 and the following since it had been on the court roll for a long time.
Mdluli was kidnapped from Kabokweni, allegedly drugged and taken to the bushes where she was assaulted with unidentified objects until she died.
