Police have arrested a teacher for child grooming, supply, expose, and display of pornographic material.
According to police, the mother of a 14-year-old girl was at home on Tuesday when she entered her daughter’s bedroom. Upon entering, the mother noticed she had a cell phone that was not was not hers and hid it under a pillow.
The mother asked her who bought the cell phone. The daughter eventually admitted that it was her teacher who bought it.
The mother the went through the phone and discovered pornographic pictures that were exchanged between the teacher and the minor. The police were immediately contacted and two cases were opened in this regard.
The man was arrested on Tuesday. He was charged and will appear at the Kabokweni Magistrate’s Court today. He was remanded in custody until tomorrow for a formal bail application.
Police investigations continue and there are possibilities of adding more charges.
