Annual tariffs increase in Mpumalanga’s provincial nature reserves
These tariffs will continue to be increased annually according to the inflation rate.
The Mpumalanga Tourism and Parks Agency (MTPA) will with effect from December 1, 2019 implement an increase in the entry fees at its various nature reserves around the province.
The Chief Executive Officer of MTPA, Johannes Nobunga said a general increase based on 4,5% inflation rate for all product offerings in our provincial nature reserves was implemented. ” The annual increase in tariffs provides us with an opportunity to utilize the funds to improve our facilities and the viewpoints at all our main nature reserves in order to provide visitors with the best possible experience.”
“The MTPA is governed by the MTPA Act of 2005, which obliges the Agency to progressively generate its own revenue collection. It is therefore important to note that the income in general will be used for continuous upgrading of infrastructure at our nature reserves”, added Nobunga.

As of December 1, 2019, all tariffs will be charged in South African rand and in other areas where applicable, it will be per person. These tariffs will continue to be increased annually according to the inflation rate.
