Nkomazi finalists need your votes for coming Indoni

The national Indoni finals will be held at the Durban ICC Arena on December 13.

The voting lines for the national Indoni pageant are now open to members of the public.

Nomfundo Shongwe, a Grade 11 learner at Mdzili Secondary School in Nkomazi, will represent the SiSwati culture.

“Keeping my culture, respect and staying pure from sexual immorality is what made me the provincial winner. Once I win the pageant nationally, I will engage in campaigns to promote abstinence among young girls to prevent teenage pregnancy, contracting HIV/Aids and other sexually transmitted diseases,” she said.

To vote for her, SMS “Miss Indoni Swati” to 33616. SMSes cost R1,50 each. Voters may vote as many times as they wish.

The Swati Culture male category will be contested by Scelo Nkuna (22) from Tonga. He is a learner at Nkomazi Secondary School.

“Respecting elders and knowing my roots, the SiSwati culture and language made me the provincial winner,” he said.

If he wins the national finals; to be held at the Durban ICC Arena on December 13; Nkuna will be involved in campaigns to teach boys and young men about behavioural change, as well as the importance of learning from elders.
He also wishes to establish an organization to help the youth rehabilitate from drugs and substance abuse.
He also wishes to run a life skills centre to keep boys busy and away from the streets.
