SACP national deputy chairperson addresses delegates at provinces 10th congress
"The SACP has serious disagreements with the National Treasury paper on the South African economic strategy. The national minimum wage is part of our manifesto. It is part of the demands of workers that the Alliance promised to deliver,” he said.
MBOMBELA – The South African Communist Party’s deputy national chairperson, Thulas Nxesi addressed delegates on various issues affecting the country at Mbombela Stadium last Saturday.
His first pointer was on gender-based violence. He said the party in its Augmented Central Committee meeting made it clear that the question is not just about the girl child, but also about the boy child who has been taught to view a girl child as inferior.
Nxesi went on to say in a series of tweets:
SACP Nxesi: On the question of the gender-based violence, the SACP in its Augmented Central Committee meeting made it clear that the question is not just about the girl child, that it's also about the boy child who has been taught to look at the girl as inferior.

SACP Nxesi: We thus should also focus on the boy child in the fight against gender-based violence. #SACPMpumalangaCongress

SACP Nxesi: Our Red October Campaign aims to strengthen communities in their defence. Why should rapists, drug lords, and other criminals be comfortable in our communities? This should not happen. We must take them and hand them to the police. #SACPMpumalangaCongress

SACP Nxesi: There must be peaceful cooperation among Africans. Attacks against foreign truck drivers are unjustifiable. If we attack them, it means we must not sell to other countries. South African truck drivers also travel to other countries in Africa. #SACPMpumalangaCongress

SACP Nxesi: On the other hand, immigration must also be controlled. We must properly manage it in such a way that companies do not take advantage of the situation and employ foreign nationals in return for peanuts. #SACPMpumalangaCongress

SACP Nxesi: The criminal justice system must be strengthened. We're told that some of the convicted drug-lords live a comfortable life behind bars, so comfortable and free that they're even able to threaten witnesses while there. #SACPMpumalangaCongress pic.twitter.com/NjO1GpmKWJ

#SACP Nxesi: Self-reflection is also important as we fight against corruption. We must fight against corruption even when we find it among ourselves and our comrades. But also we must fight against corruption in the private sector. #SACPMpumalangaCongress

#SACP Nxesi: It is an abomination when land is grabbed by politicians but not the people as a whole. We should not keep quiet when we see it. #SACPMpumalangaCongress

#SACP Nxesi: The bourgeoisie is fighting fiercely against the National Health Insurance because it will hit their pockets. The NHI will increase the quality of health care for the people, the majority of which is the working class. #SACPMpumalangaCongress

#SACP Nxesi: It will be difficult to solve the problems we point out unless the ANC, and the Alliance as a whole, is united. #SACPMpumalangaCongress pic.twitter.com/63aWkAPIII

#SACP Nxesi: The SACP Special National Congress, scheduled for 10-14 December 2019, will crystalise the debates on the coming 2021 local government elections. Policy documents on the SACP's outlook on a variety of issues will be thoroughly discussed. #SACPMpumalangaCongress

#SACP Nxesi: On the crisis of social reproduction, the SACP must continue to play its vanguard role. #SACPMpumalangaCongress

#SACP Nxesi: A Party cadre cannot lead based on mere common sense. A Party cadre must read, partake in political classes, deepen and expand their ideological development. #SACPMpumalangaCongress
