Gert Sibande District Municipality warns against tender fraud
It is alleged that there are individuals pretending to be working for the Supply Chain Unit of the municipality in securing tenders for service providers.
Gert Sibande District Municipality is warning communities not to be deceived by unknown individuals who claim to be agents of the municipality.
Bongi Ka Dube, head of communications said the municipality refutes these claims and distances itself from the alleged impostors.
“It is requested that communities report to the Office of the Municipal Manager on 017 801 7000 any suspicious acts or individuals claiming to be working for Gert Sibande District Municipality in terms of securing tenders.”

She added that municipality upholds the Supply Chain Management regulations and processes and does not have Supply Chain Management related agents on the ground representing the municipality or connected to the municipality in any form. All services required follow the relevant procurement procedures.
