Tributes pour in for Sabie Hospital CEO

He described his character as someone who loved his family and was passionate about his job.

MBOMBELA – Tributes have been pouring in following the death of Sabie Hospital CEO Elvis Dibakwane last Saturday.

He was attending a meeting at Themba Hospital on Friday when his body was found the following morning at the parking by security guards. According to the police, he found in his vehicle when the guards became suspicious. The matter was then reported to the Themba Hospital CEO who identified him. His cousin, Thembinkosi Mashele who was fond of him said it was a sad moment for the family. “We have accepted his passing as it was a natural cause of death. People close to the family have been very supportive as well as the department,” he said.

He described his character as someone who loved his family and was passionate about his job. “He loved us very much and he valued everybody in the family. It is just sad that we have lost him and we will greatly miss him,” he added. The MEC of the Department of Health, Sasekani Manzini and other officials visited the family yesterday to pay her condolences. “He was a man who loved his job even though there were challenges in the health sector but he served his community. It is an unfortunate incident to have passed on this manner,” said the department’s spokesperson, Dumisani Malamule. Dibakwane is survived by his wife three children and his siblings. The funeral service will take place at his home on Sunday at Harmony Hills in Sabie.
