Ngrayi Ngwenya found not guilty by disciplinary committee

It was recommended that the provincial and regional leaders be sent to the OR Tambo Political School of Leadership to expand their political understanding, be referred for anger management and be equipped with the tools to deal with organisational issues.

MBOMBELA- On Monday  the much revered former ANC Ehlanzeni regional chairperson, Michael Ngrayi Ngwenya was acquitted of all charges by the ANC’s National Disciplinary Committee (NDC) during its sitting.

His accomplice, Phindile Nkuna, former Ehlanzeni regional treasurer was found guilty of assault and has been reprimanded. She must directly apologise to the provincial ANC acting secretary, Lindiwe Ntshalintshali, within seven days of Monday, September 30.

The two were charged for allegedly assaulting Ntshalintshali on July 17, whereby, they were alleged to have deliberately disrupted a meeting convened in terms of Rule 25.17 of the ANC Constitution, namely, the Ehlanzeni Regional General Council.

The second charge against the two emanated when they were alleged to have instructed a group of people to assault Ntshalintshali and to have actively participated in the assault on her.
