Sabie Hospital’s CEO dies

The CEO of Sabie Hospital was found dead at Themba Hospital’s parking area.

It is alleged that the CEO, Elvis Dibakwane, attended a meeting at Themba Hospital on Friday and was discovered dead in his car on Saturday morning.

“He was found in a sitting position by the security guards, who after being suspicious of what was happening reported the matter to the CEO of Themba Hospital, who identified him as the CEO of Sabie Hospital.

The SAPS and forensic team were also called to the scene where Dibakwane was certified dead,” said Dumsani Malamule, spokesperson for the Department of Health.

“The cause of death is not yet known. A post-mortem will reveal the real cause of death.”

The MEC of health, Sasekani Manzini, has expressed her shock about this incident.
“We are very saddened by the death of our CEO. It is actually a shock to me and the entire staff. Dibakwane was an energetic man who was always dedicated to giving people the best health service. We send our deepest condolences to his family, friends and colleagues,” Manzini said.
