“DUT not safe for students” – SRC President

Students from the Campbell Campus also attended the funeral together with his former classmates from high school.

Durban University of Technology Student Representative Council president, Thamsanqa Memela says the university is not a safe institution for students to study.

He mentioned this in his speech during the funeral service of Sandile Ndlovu held at Metropolitan College in White River. Ndlovu was stabbed and sustained head injuries on September 9 at the campus. He died last Saturday in hospital.

“Rest In Peace Sandile. Be the guardian angels of DUT together with those students who were victims in our campus. Parents are left with a choice either have their children arrested or killed,” he said.
