Man allegedly gets fake report from Robs

Rob Ferreira patient, Thabo Magagula, who was in a car accident in June, was allegedly given incorrect magnetic resonance imaging results.

MBOMBELA – This was told to Magagula by an insider at the hospital.

It has been a three-month battle with the hospital, which allegedly gave him the runaround because the hospital does not have an MRI scanner.

He fears that his life is in danger, as he thinks the hospital is hiding something.
During his admission, the doctor’s diagnosis revealed that he sustained an injury to his spinal cord which required him to undergo the scan.

According to Magagula, on July 1, he instructed his attorneys to make an internal appeal to request medical records from the hospital that are in his file of August 6.

“We served a letter requesting a full copy of Magagula’s file. Thirty days have elapsed since we sent the request and we have not been informed of the reason for failure to grant our request. We are prepared to tender reasonable and necessary costs of making the said copies. We will collect same (the copies of the requested file) on the date of payment of the required amount from our offices should you fail to deliver the same per email requested. Please, note that you must comply with the above request within 30 days of receipt hereof. Failing which an application will bring to court to compel to do the same and the costs of that application will be done by your office. We attached Power of Attorney, and the copies of both the applicant and patient,” read the internal appeal document.
Magagula eventually went to Kiaat Hospital to undergo the scan. However, the doctor’s report contradicted Rob Ferreira’s doctor’s diagnosis.

“Dr Sithole said I am well and that there is nothing wrong with my spine. I contacted my attorneys and told them that I wanted access to the medical records. We gave them 30 days. Now, they are refusing the records because it seems as though it is personal. We asked them what the issue was and they have no answers. I am forced to go back to the High Court just for my medical records so that I know what is happening.

“This is my health that is in danger and they are refusing to do the right thing. I view the report that I got fake just to make me suffer from challenging them. I want access to those records so that I can get a doctor of my choice who will interpret those records,” he said.

A media inquiry was sent to the Department of Health, however, they had not responded at the time of going to press.
