Taxi owner gunned down at his home in Bushbuckridge

Several shots were fired at the deceased before the suspects fled in a red-and-white Golf.

A prominent member of the Bushbuckridge Taxi Association was shot dead at his home on Saturday evening.
The 51-year-old RM Makubela was sitting near a gate with his children when two unknown, armed men approached.

Mpumalanga News learned that the men apparently told Makubela’s children to leave them, as they needed to speak to their father. He was shot immediately after that.

Capt Mpho Nonyana, spokesman of the Acornhoek Cluster, said, “Several shots were fired at the deceased before the suspects fled in a red-and-white Golf. The deceased was found with five gunshot wounds in his body. The police also found seven empty cartridges on the scene.”
No arrests have been made so far. The police investigations continue.
