The victim said that he was on his way to Johannesburg when he was pulled over by a white Volkswagen Polo with blue lights.

DELMAS – Four suspects will appear in the Delmas Magistrate’s Court on Monday for hijacking.

According to police, in the early hours of this morning, a 35-year-old man arrived at the local police station wounded and hijacked of his UD truck the previous night at the Dwarsfontein off-ramp.

The victim said that he was on his way to Johannesburg when he was pulled over by a white Volkswagen Polo with blue lights. Four men came out of the car and instructed him to step out of the truck.

He also alleged that during the hijacking, he was assaulted with a rock and also sustained a stab wound on the head. He added that the suspects drove around with him for a while before dropping him off on the field.

“Police conducted a search and while patrolling, they found two suspects that fitted the description given by the victim and upon searching them, the truck keys were found in their possession and the other suspect had bloodstains on his trousers. The victim identified them and they were arrested,” said the police.

A further investigation was launched which led to the suspects pointing out a house where police discovered blood-stained gloves as well as two other suspects and who were arrested. The truck was later recovered at Botleng.
