Sam Holdings owner granted R200 000 bail

Sambulo Bruce Chabalala was granted R200 000 bail by the Witbank Magistrate Court on Monday September 16 with the following bail conditions.

The accused was instructed to report at the Bethal Police Station on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays between 09:00 and 12:00. He is also to hand in his travel documents and further not to leave Govan Mbeki Municipality without notifying the investigating officer.

On the other hand, the Hawks Serious Organized Crime Investigation Unit took over the murder case of Sam Holdings general manager, Nkosinathi Emmanuel Ngcongo (30), who was shot and killed last week Thursday September 12 while he was on duty at the company’s truck depot.

According to a statement released by the Hawks in Mpumalanga, It is alleged that two men were seen entering the premises, whereafter one of the suspects produced a firearm, shot Ngcongo and disappeared.

“Later the same night the investigation led to the arrest of 26-year-old Phindokuhle Eugene Nkosi. He appeared at the Bethal Magistrate Court on Friday September 13, 2019. His case is remanded to September 19, 2019 for further investigation and possible bail application. The suspect remanded in custody,” said Hawks spokesperson in Mpumalanga, Capt Dineo Sekgotodi.

The investigation continues.
