Remember to obey the rules of the road at all times.

Five road safety tips

1. Do not drive at times when you would normally be asleep, to avoid fatigue.
2. Do not drink and drive. Avoid driving if you are going to be drinking alcohol.
3. Keep a safe following distance on the road.
4. It is important to turn your head to check for vehicles in your blind spots, especially when merging, changing lanes or before moving off at an intersection. Try turning from the waist to make this easier.
5. At all times, practise defensive driving, and never offensive driving. Be alert and vigilant, and keep yourself, any passengers, other drivers and any pedestrians safe at all costs.
