Tekwane South residents gatvol over councillor

Some residents, who wished to remain anonymous in fear of victimisation, claim that Cllr Mashaba does as he pleases as he has brought his own Community Liaison Officer who was not nominated by the community.

Residents of Tekwane South took to the streets this morning and blocked the entrance with burning tyres and rocks. Their protest comes after they accused their ward councillor, Joseph Mashaba of corruption in the new construction project.

Some residents, who wished to remain anonymous in fear of victimisation, claim that Cllr Mashaba does as he pleases and has brought his Community Liaison Officer who was not nominated by the community. There will be a revamp of the bridge that connects the N4 and Karino road which will create employment for members of the community. Police were at the scene to calm the protest, however, the residents continued to chant.
