African National Congress says Ngrayi Ngwenya is not suspended

The ANC recently disbanded the Ehlanzeni and Bohlabela regions. Meanwhile, a case of assault was opened against Ngwenya who attacked the acting provincial secretary.

MBOMBELA – An article was published this morning by an online publication revealing Regional Task Team deputy convener, Ngrayi Ngwenya was suspended by the African National Congress’National Executive Committee.

This comes after the NEC instructed the Provincial Executive Committee to disband Ehlanzeni and Bohlabela regions and realign them to form one region.
Ngwenya allegedly assaulted acting provincial secretary, Lindiwe Ntshalintshali at the Special Regional General Council at Nutting House on July 15. ANC’s spokesperson in the province, Sasekani Manzini dismissed the rumours saying she was not aware of the suspension. However, she heard rumours of it on social media.

“I do not know of any suspension. The NEC released the resolutions of the meeting that took place on July 26 and Ngrayi’s name is not even on the statements,” says Manzini.
The ANC released statements of the outcome of the NEC meeting that was held at St Georges Hotel in Tshwane.
