Woman burnt to death in Msholozi
The police have opened cases of murder, arson and rape. No one has been arrested so far.
A 28-year-old woman was burnt to death when the rented room she was sleeping in was set alight allegedly by her boyfriend, who also allegedly raped the victim’s daughter at Section D in Msholozi.
The incident happened around 05:00 on Sunday. It is alleged that the boyfriend who also rents a room in the same area, killed the woman and raped her nine-year-old daughter before setting the house on fire.
The girl managed to flee from the scene to a neighbour’s house asking for help.

According to members of the community, the minor was walking on bare feet and was bleeding from her private parts. The neighbours tried to put down the flames with sand and water, it was only after the arrival of fire brigades that the body of the child’s mother was discovered already burnt beyond recognition amongst the debris.
“We were not even aware that she was trapped inside in the house,” added a neighbour.

Sgt Cynthia Mbokodo, spokesperson of the White River police confirmed the incident. She says the police have opened cases of murder, arson and rape. No one has been arrested so far.
