Four people were killed last night around 22.00 when a bakkie they were travelling in overturned on the R543 Road between Mkhondo and Dirkiesdorp.
Two more passengers sustained serious injuries and four people further escaped with slight injuries.
It is reported that the driver lost control before the vehicle overturned and crashed on the side of the road.
The four people died at the scene and investigations are underway. All the injured people were rushed to a nearby hospital in Mkhondo.
The bakkie was carrying 13 occupants including the driver and it is believed that it was travelling to Wakkerstroom at the time of the crash.
