Acornhoek police searching for filling station robbers 

The police in Acornhoek are looking for a group of men who bombed a safe at a local filling station and fled with an undisclosed amount of cash this morning.

According to the police, two petrol attendants were inside the shop when they heard a sound which was followed by an immediate collapse of part of the wall.

“A group of men gained entry into the shop through the broken wall and ordered everyone to the assembly in the staff room. The suspects proceeded to a drop safe and blasted it open. They took an undisclosed amount of money before fleeing the scene,” said Col. Mtsholi Bhembe, police spokesperson in Mpumalanga.

The police are making an appeal to anyone with information that may assist in tracing the suspects, to contact Lt Colonel Dudu Shabangu on 082 469 2569 or the SAPS Crime Stop number, 08600 10111.
