11 people killed in road crashes in the province

The department of community safety, security and liaison is appealing to road users to obey road rules to curb more crashes.

The Easter death toll has risen to 11 following road accidents in the past two days.

A collision left three people dead on the R40 between Bushbuckridge and Accornhoek between two sedans around 23h00 on Friday evening.

One of the drivers and two passengers died at the scene. Three were seriously injured and are receiving treatment at the hospital.

Two more people died in two separate accidents on the R568 near Kwamhlanga and on the N12 near Emalahleni.

Another head on collision claimed two lives on the R555 between Middleburg and Emalahleni on Thursday.

The deceased were females, a driver and a passenger who died at the scene.
