Lace up your running shoes for the KaNyamazane 3-in-1 Half-Marathon

Athletes and all race lovers, including pensioners, in the Lowveld region are invited to gear up for the upcoming first annual KaNyamazane 3-in-1 Half-Marathon on April 6.

“Participants can choose to race in different categories including the 4, 9, 10 and 21 kilometres, with the starting and ending point being at KaNyamazane Stadium.

We invite them to register as soon as they can to avoid disappointments,” explained Past Sipho Langa, founder of KaNyamazane Marathon Club.

 

Registration information

Online registration for the race is already open until March 15.  It will close on March 15 while manual registration will close at a later date. Registration forms will be available at Sports Edition at the Promenade Centre and at all marathons taking place around Mbombela.

“We will also distribute registration forms at different spots at Emoyeni Mall and other malls in town on dates yet to be announced,” explained Langa.

Race winners stand a chance of winning cash prizes between R200 and R1 000. All athletes to finish the race will be awarded medals at the finishing line.

Late registrations will be available at KaNyamazane Stadium on April 5 between 14:00 and 18:00.

Children and adults who attended the launch of the club last year.

 

Proceeds made from 4,9-kilometre race will be shared between Buhlebuyeta Primary School and the God’s Love Drop-in-Centre.
Langa also extended his invitation to other stakeholders who wish to make any contributions to the success of the event to contact him.

He also invited all those who wish to become full members of KaNyamazane Marathon Club, which aims to improve health conditions and fight sickness through walking and running, to contact him.

 

The club was formed by Langa in 2017. It is registered with the Athletics South Africa (ASA) and was launched in KaNyamazane on April 14, 2018.
It currently has 21 registered members who meet on Saturdays from 05:00.

“During our meetings, we practice and share useful information on how to lose and maintain weight to beat illnesses like high blood pressure and diabetes,” he said.

 

The club plans to hold its annual men’s conference on a date to be announced in June.
