Missing Matsulu boy suspected to be in the Crocodile River

The 9-year-old boy was last seen on Wednesday when he went to play with his friends after returning from school.

The family of Thanduxolo Evidence Sam is pleading with anyone with information about their child’s whereabouts after he went missing last Wednesday.

Police confirmed that a missing person docket was filed. Matsulu police spokesperson, Constable Edith Khumalo said, “We are not sure if he drowned or not, however, divers together with members of the community have been to the river several but have not found anything yet. A case was opened and investigations continue,” she said.

A resident who wished to remain anonymous said the police revealed that one of the suspects is a Community Police Forum(CPF) member in the area. “We need to stand up and come up with a plan to find the missing child. If we have to protest for the police to act swiftly, then we will. Something needs to be done.”

A community meeting is scheduled to take place at 18.00 today at Takheleni Primary School in Matsulu to discuss the matter for a way forward.
