Local doctor publishes a medical book

This book will help patients articulate the correct information when they consult.

The province’s pain and stress specialist, Dr Walter Ochan has published his first ever medical book. The book titled: “Don’t get a small bang for your big buck, think like a Doctor, act like a patient,” which is aimed at providing patients with an effective story when consulting, using the necessary amount and not getting anything less than what they paid for, hence the title.

This book is a comic completion of health, finance, communication and business information. In his 20-year experience of being a General Practitioner (GP), specializing in pain and stress, Ochan has observed so many mistakes made by patients at a doctor’s consultation room.

“In my experience of being a doctor, I’ve observed so much and concluded that a lot of people don’t know how to explain the way they feel to a doctor when they come to our consultation rooms. This makes it difficult for a doctor to diagnose. More than 90% of the diagnosis is made up of a person’s mouth, what they say and how they say it and if they fail to explain what they are feeling, chances are that wrong diagnose will be given” he said. Available at Exclusive Books, on Amazon.com and as an EBook on google books.

On Thursday afternoon Ochan together with Dr Abbey Mdluli the author of Effective Teamwork and the Power of Self Talk will be signing books at the Exclusive Book Shop, Ilanga Mall from 18:00. Avid readers and all interested individuals are invited.
