MEC warns about bogus traffic learnership advertisements

Mpumalanga Community Safety, Security and Liaison MEC Pat Ngomane advice young people who aspire to be traffic officers to be wary of bogus advertisements on Traffic Learnership.

This comes after the department received numerous enquiries about an advertisement that is circulating believed to have been issued by the department.

“Although the Traffic College had an intake this year, unfortunately, the department did not have any enrollments and we have not issued any advertisement,” says the MEC.

MEC Ngomane says these are unscrupulous individuals who want to take advantage of the vulnerabilities of unemployed people and deliberately mislead them. He further calls on job seekers, in general, to be vigilant and not allow themselves to be exploited by mischievous people who want to make quick money out of their miseries.

“Furthermore communities should not be tempted to pay money for job opportunities because government jobs, learnerships or internships are not for sale. Members of the public are encouraged to report such individuals to the police,” adds the MEC.

MEC Ngomane further explained government jobs were never for sale and he has thus appealed to members of the public to report any persons who attempt to sell them forms or jobs to the nearest police stations or even report them anonymously through SAPS’s toll-free hotline.
