Youth league calls for support for sexual abuse victim

The provincial ANCYL calls all young people in Mpumalanga to support Charyl Zondi.

Zondi, a young woman from Gert Sibande, a victim of sexual violence in the hands of a person who was supposed to be a man of God; Pastor Timothy Omotoso who is on trial in a Port Elizabeth court.

Said provincial secretary, Pholoso Mbatsane, “Her bravery to come out and speak against the criminal who is standing trial must be commended. We shall stand hand and shoulders with her and other victims throughout. We call upon all young men and women who are equally sexually Omotoso-violated in any part of our province and country to come out so that we can fight this evil deeds of pastors of Omotoso’s character.

“The ANCYL calls upon the South African Council of Churches to regulate the establishment of churches, particularly those of foreign nationals. We call upon them to act swift in addressing the dignity of this institution. We cannot allow such institutions to continue to be compromised by bogus men of the cloth, both sinister South Africans and foreign nationals,” he said.
