Crime in Moloto to be tackled during a public participation programme

Moloto Road links three provinces namely Gauteng, Mpumalanga and Limpopo.

Moloto is an area located in Thembisie Hani Local Municipality and it is also where the infamous R573 Road passes through. The road is commonly referred to as Moloto Road and it is where most fatal crashes have occurred over the years.

The area does not only have challenges with road safety, but like most areas in the country, it has problems of domestic violence, residential and business robberies and housebreakings among others. It is therefore in this context that Mpumalanga Community Safety, Security and Liaison, Pat Ngomane will visit the area to interact with various community structures in order to find solutions to identified challenges during the Public Participation Programme (Imbizo) this weekend.

Ngomane will be accompanied by saps management and local traditional leaders to address challenges that are related to crime. During the imbizo various community structures will be given platform to articulate issues. After the programme the team will develop a Crime Prevention Plan specifically for Moloto and all other stakeholders will thereafter implement the way forward that would have been agreed during the Imbizo.

The Imbizo is scheduled as follows:
Date: Sunday, 28 October 2018
Venue: Moloto Old Age Home Sports Ground, Thembisile Hani Local Municipality
Time: 10h00
