Five suspects arrested for burglary in White River

The suspects briefly appeared at White River Magistrate's court and their case was postponed to October 10 for their formal bail application.

Five suspects have been arrested on different occasions for burglary and possession of firearms in White River.

One of them was arrested while trying to sell stolen goods at a local pawn shop.

“After his arrest, White River detectives embarked on an operation on September 26 which resulted in the arrest of four more suspects, “explained Capt Cynthia Mbokodo.

The five suspects aged between 23 and 43 were charged with burglary and one of them face extra charges of possession of firearm and ammunition.

The police recovered a firearm with ammunition, a television, a Kodak camera, a sound system, jewellery and other items.

The suspects briefly appeared at White River Magistrate’s court and their case was postponed to October 10 for their formal bail application. They were remanded in custody.
