DJ inspiring upcoming talent with her monthly workshops

After successfully hosting Mbombela’s first DJ Workshop last May, DJ Zoe makes a comeback with another one this month. She has been appointed a mentor for youth in music for the National Youth Development Agency.

Zodwa Matsebula, popularly known as DJ or Sheejay Zoe, and the founder and managing director of Redemacy Lifestyle & Entertainment that hosts lifestyle events, grooms young and aspiring DJs and musicians through workshops, has always had love and appreciation for music.

Her company also creates a platform for female DJ’s through the She Power Sessions hosted once a year at News Café with DJs Trevor Dee and Wicked.

She started playing in 2004 and enrolled at Foreal Records DJ School in Pretoria in 2005, where she studied a beat matching and phase mixing course. She comes a long way since her days as resident DJ on SABC1’s Jika Majika, after DJ Zinhle in 2010.

She continues to rock the airwaves with her mixes across a variety of radio stations such as Metro FM, Rise FM and
Touch HD Radio. She has shared the stage with renowned DJs Black Coffee, Glen Lewis, Tira, Ganyani, Christos, Vinny Davinci, DJ Fresh, Manoo, DJ Zinhle, Chinamusique and others.

As a female DJ, she is making her mark as a Deep House DJ in South Africa and Africa as a whole, having played in other countries; including Zimbabwe, Swaziland, Botswana, Lesotho, Namibia, the USA and soon Tanzania.

After successfully hosting Nelspruit’s first DJ Workshop at Dream South Business Lounge in May 2017, she hosted another one in July 2018. DJ Zoe is a recognised female house DJ on the rise to global recognition.

She recently played in New York and and released her single, “Rhythm In You” produced by Ganyani Entertainment, which will have the music video released later this year.

She continues to play in and around South Africa and Africa as a whole, while producing house mixes for Metro FM, Ligwalagwala FM and Rise FM.

Her community projects include inspiring youth and upcoming artists, DJ workshops and establishing a skills centre.
